College Admissions and SAT Prep Immersion Boot Camp
Quinton Lampkin, Aaron Shipp and Dr. Darian M. Parker are role models of possibility. As first-generation college graduates, these three educators have collectively committed 45 years to getting students “to and through” college. This summer, they will share their expertise for successfully navigating some of the world’s most prestigious and competitive colleges and universities. The College Admissions and SAT Prep Immersion Boot Camp is a 3-week intensive and interactive experience that prepares high school students for the highly competitive process of college admissions. The Boot Camp includes SAT test preparation with two top-scoring experts, intensive and interactive college admissions workshops, essay writing instruction, interviewing coaching, scholarship preparation and one-on-one college guidance. Quinton Lampkin is the founder and CEO of Scholar Navigator, a social venture committed to the career & college success of students from diverse backgrounds. He has worked for national college success organizations such as the “I Have A Dream” Foundation and the Posse Foundation. He completed graduate schools at both Columbia University’s Teachers College and the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. He has also been the recipient of the Education Pioneers Fellowship, the Coca-Cola Scholarship, the Bill & Melinda Gates Millennium Scholarship and others. In 2016, the College Board recognized Quinton as a rising thought leader in education. Aaron Shipp is the founder and CEO of The Ivy Edge, a boutique college admissions consulting firm. Aaron founded The Ivy Edge on the belief that every student has something valuable to contribute to the world and attending a college that is the right fit is the best place to cultivate such gifts. An alumnus of Yale University, Aaron is also the Founder of Y-Apply, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping low-income, public school students successfully apply to top-tier colleges and universities. Students of The Ivy Edge and Y-Apply are currently attending such schools as Stanford, Harvard, Duke, Princeton, NYU and Yale. Before working in college admissions full-time, Aaron spent many years in the corporate sector as an executive coach and communications consultant to professionals at Fortune 100 companies, such as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, UBS and Morgan Stanley. Aaron brings his experience as an executive coach to his Ivy Edge clients. He uses personality assessments to determine his clients’ strengths as well as coaching strategies and techniques to help his clients create action plans, set deadlines, complete tasks, stay motivated, and overcome any challenge that arises. Aaron also employs communication strategies from the corporate sector to assist his clients with crafting competitive personal statements and conducting compelling admissions and scholarship interviews.
Dr. Darian Marcel Parker is the founder and CEO of Parker Academics, which offers a rigorous, person-centered approach to test preparation and academic tutoring. He graduated from Yale University with his PhD, M. Phil and MA in anthropology, and from UCLA’s College of Honors with BA degrees in English literature and anthropology. Parker Academics’ test prep experts hold advanced degrees from such institutions as Harvard and Yale, and have helped students gain admission to such institutions as Yale, Columbia and Wesleyan. Dr. Parker is the author of Sartre and No Child Left Behind (Rowman & Littlefield Press, 2015) and “The Haze”, which appears in Pedagogies in the Flesh (Palgrave Macmillan Press, 2017). He is also the editor for Rowman & Littlefield’s Anthropology and Education Series. As an active member of the Yale Alumni Association, Dr. Parker serves as an interviewer for Yale College. He is also on the Advisory Board of Ivy Life, a professional network of Ivy League graduates.
The boot camp provides an in-depth immersion into the admissions process to highly selective colleges and universities. Our curriculum is designed to give students a competitive edge when applying to top-tier schools. Students receive
52 hours of SAT prep, which includes 4 full-length exams
9 interactive college admissions workshops
10 hours of essay writing
8 hours of video-aided interview training
At the end of the boot camp, participants will leave with the following:
Detailed “Roadmap” of all aspects of the application process
Mastery of SAT Strategies and Topics for all exam sections
Completed Personal Statement, the result of several hours of expert coaching
College List, well-researched and aligned with the student’s ideal college profile
Professional Resume that presents the student’s academic, personal and extracurricular backgrounds
Financial Aid Portfolio, including an individualized list of applicable scholarship options
Interview Coaching from an Ivy League admissions insider. Video portfolio used to measure improvement
Student-Staff Ratio: 5:1
Must be a rising sophomore or junior
Must demonstrate industriousness, and willingness to commit to the rigors of the Boot Camp

The average price of a college admissions/SAT prep boot camp is over $11,000 per student. To make this opportunity as accessible as possible for as many students as possible, student can participate in this program for only $6,000*.
